Refused and Quicksand
Swedish hardcore punk band Refused formed in 1991. Known for their influential album The Shape of Punk to Come and their politically charged, non-conformist lyrics, they’re currently on a final North American tour before disbanding later this year. New York City icons Quicksand came together in 1990, releasing a debut self-titled EP followed by two major label albums, Slip and Manic Compression, both of which distilled their fusion of punk, metal, and alt-rock.
