Born and raised in Missouri, Indie-soul artist Shea Givens grew up singing, songwriting, playing the piano, and performing alongside her mother from a young age. She continued to perform all throughout college, which helped her to develop a unique mix of soul, pop, and R&B.

It seemed for a while like Louis XIV would bring glam rock back into style, with the band scoring radio hits such as “Finding Out True Love Is Blind” and “God Killed the Queen.” Members eventually went on to other projects, but the core group will reunite for a performance in the Little Italy landmark.

Rapping punk rockers P.O.D. will headline Southdown Throwdown, a benefit for the Youth of the Nation Foundation, hosted by Emo Brown, a foundation, podcast, and social club dedicated to elevating the mental wellness and identity of South San Diego communities. The afternoon event also features performances from Dogwood and No Innocent Victim.
Punk Riffs & Mosh Pits at Winstons Beach Club

The third edition of Punk Riffs & Mosh Pits takes place in Ocean Beach, pairing up several area bands from San Diego, Santa Cruz, and Orange County for the first time on one stage. Doors open at 3:30 pm for a bill that includes headliners The Pictographs, along with One Square Mile, Dresden’s Burning, and Discount Cadavers.

Auz Fontaine is in the middle of their annual residency at the Soda Bar. The “dirty pop” band features producer Vic Fontaine and vocalist Captain Auzmo, who were originally backed by a complex series or electronic gadgets. For recent concert sets, their sets have been augmented by live backing players.
