Founded in New Jersey circa 1980, The Smithereens have released over a dozen albums and performed over 2500 concerts. Since the December 2017 death of founding vocalist Pat DiNizio, the group has been performing as a trio with guest vocalists. The bill includes Vicki Peterson of the Bangles teaming up with current Smithereens singer John Cowsill, who was the drummer/vocalist for The Beach Boys for over 23 years and an original member of the family band The Cowsills.

Goodguys Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals
View 1999 & older hot rods, trucks, customs, muscle cars and classics. The PPG Lowrider Palace will have paints and detailed rides, while the Suede & Chrome Hall will show traditional hot rods, lakesters, and highboys. Goodguys will be selecting one vehicle that will be awarded Meguair’s West Coast d’Elegance title of 2025. Stop by the family fun zone with games and crafts and check out the model car show, which includes a free Autoworld model car take-and-make. Also check out the lowrider hopping contest, limbo contest, and vintage car drag racing.

Keynote speakers Erica Alfaro, Leticia Ordaz, and Victor Villasenor will talk about their contributions to Latino literature.

Join a tour in the heart of Balboa Park, but tucked away from the main public thoroughfares, to discover landscaped areas with rare floral specimens. These hidden areas offer opportunities to learn about little-known park history. Led by park volunteer and horticultural enthusiast Bill Edwards, walks last 90–120 minutes and are typically less than one mile on level terrain.
