Sen K features Eric Nielsen (of psychedelic-noise groups High Mountain Tempel and Maquiladora) and his wife Krista Bentley aka Krista Kansas (once from a Lawrence, Kansas band called Showertrick). Their recently-released debut album of experimental rock music Allele (Nielsen’s first new first record since 2015) was recorded at Singing Serpent with Ben Moore. The bill is headlined by Acid Mothers Temple and the Melting Paraiso, with opening support from Spirit Mother.

Headphone was founded in 2014 by Morgan McRae (who studied piano and business management at St. Louis University) and Philip Cullin. Their debut album Sector 1 was followed by Clouds of Scattered Noise, with both records earning positive reviews and landing them steady local gig workThe San Carlos bill also includes The Gravities.

Other acts slated to appear include Pepper, Stick Figure, Tribal Seeds, Cypress Hill, Wiz Khalifa. Singer-songwriter Blaise Guld first earned local notice fronting rock-n-reggae group Mad Traffic, later signing with Blindspot Records and releasing a number of solo works. His album Past Forward was nominated Best Pop Album at the 2014 San Diego Music Awards.

Opening for Kacey Musgraves will be the reunited local bluegrass-Americana family band Nickel Creek, featuring Chris Thile (mandolin) and siblings Sara Watkins (violin/fiddle) and Sean Watkins (guitar). Their 2023 album Celebrants was nominated for Best Folk Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, and they received the Lifetime Achievement Trailblazer Award at the 2023 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards. Also appearing on this stop of Musgraves’ Deeper Well Tour will be Father John Misty.
