The paintings of local artist Lauren Elyse S's artwork are a gathering of quicksilver moments, longings and musings, drawn out through a bit of quiet alchemy.


Local artist Lauren Elyse S. has worked for the past two years on view under the theme “Quiet Alchemy” featuring scenes of San Diego and further afield, painted both en plein air and from memory, and representations of a love of books, the small hours of night, and personal tableaus.

When: 9:30 am to 6 pm. Through Monday, November 25.

Locals Stick Figure, Iration, and Pepper headline this year’s Mission Bayfest, an island music festival running over two days with food trucks, vendors, and multiple stages. The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival is not just for the art connoisseur but is also a destination where wine enthusiasts and craft beer lovers unite, along with a two-day silent auction, pet adoption stations, and an all-star line-up of live entertainment and music.


Art, regional and international wines, craft beer and spirits, and family-friendly fun. More than 170 artists from across the U.S. and Mexico will have creations in painting, sculpture, jewelry design, fine glass, ceramics, woodwork, mixed media, and photography. The wine and beer garden will have representations from over 35 international wineries, local craft breweries, and craft distilleries. Participate in a silent auction, visit pet adoption stations, and enjoy live entertainment and music.

When: Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, 10 am to 6 pm
