Singer/songwriter Sara Petite was raised in Sumner, Washington, living a rural youth that helped shaped her songwriting, which often incorporates pedal steel guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and accordion. The ten-time San Diego Music Award winner and prolific singer/songwriter with seven released albums will host “an evening of music, mirth and merriment” with singer/songwriter John Eddie, whose early career in New Jersey included performing with Bruce Springsteen.

Ocean Beach hosts a daytime rock party headlined by Chula Vista–based thrash/punk band Steeltoe, formed in 2013 and fronted by Cuauhtemoc Uribe. The politically-driven rockers have opened for The Misfits, D.R.I. Green Jelly, Sprung Monkey, and others. The bill also features Natural Selection, Shocker, and Freedom High.

The 42nd annual Adams Avenue Street Fair features 75 musical acts on seven stages and ten blocks of carnival rides, beer gardens, beer tastings, festival foods, and 300 exhibitors. Among the local acts slated to appear are Creature Canyon, who won a $2000 second-place prize at the 2017 San Diego County Fair’s battle-of-the bands contest. Also slated to appear are Ass Pocket Whiskey Fellas, The Zeros ’77, Deadbolt, MohaviSoul, the Nathan Raney Band, High Rolling Loners, Planetarius, and the John January Band.

Based in Oceanside, Keni Yarbro specializes in island vibe music, including classic rock, Motown, reggae, and traditional Hawaiian sounds. He can often be found playing solo at area resorts and restaurants, performing individual arrangements of songs by performers such as Steely Dan, Al Jarreau, Steve Perry, Boz Skaggs, and Stevie Wonder.

David Shyde grew up immersed in the rich musical & colorful traditions of Brazil. In addition to his native music, he was also absorbed in the edgy artistry of Buddy Guy, Mr. BIG, ACDC, Metallica, Joe Satriani and Led Zeppelin. He grew up singing blues and rock, while maintaining a fond appreciation of Brazilian samba and Bossa Nova.
