Celebrating the music and legacy of Jimi Hendrix, this year’s Experience Hendrix Tour features guitar gods such as Dweezil Zappa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, and Zakk Wylde. The San Diego edition will also include guests Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Taj Mahal, Noah Hunt, Chuck Campbell, and Calvin Cooke.

The Falling Doves are fronted by Chris Leyva (Blizzard), who grew up in Mexico City. This stop of the City of Dreams World Tour in support of the new Falling Doves album Rise of The Serpent will include a screening of a band documentary shot during a Japanese tour.
Peter Sprague Plays Cream at Pilgrim United Church of Christ

Jazz guitarist Peter Sprague and his band will be playing the songs of Cream, the 1960s power trio of Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker. The music has been reimagined through the jazz and Brazilian influence of Peter on guitar, Leonard Patton on vocals, Tripp Sprague on sax and flute, Mack Leighton on bass, Danny Green on piano, and Duncan Moore on drums.
Sandi King Album Listening Party at The Jazz Lounge

Singer Sandi King (King Taylor Project) released her debut solo single in 2023, “Frozen Heart,” a collaboration with two-time San Diego Music Award-winner Jonny Tarr. Now King is debuting her solo album Departure, due October 22, with an album listening and cocktail party. Preceded so far by singles for “Lush Life” and “Shadow Of Your Smile,” the album is a tribute to her late father, Ron King, a local jazz trumpet player who passed away in 2021.
Clikatat Ikatowi at the Casbah

Post-hardcore/emo math rockers Clikatat Ikatowi featured drummer Mario Rubalcaba (Rocket from the Crypt, the Black Heart Procession, Hot Snakes, the Sultans, Earthless). Active in the early to mid-’90s, the band released a demo tape, a full-length album, an EP, and a live album before splitting. “The last show that Clikatat ever played was at Casbah San Diego,” says Rubalcaba. “That was 29 years ago! It’s only fitting for that our return show be there as well.” The bill includes Negative Blast and Witch Face.
