Founded near Atlanta, Georgia circa 1999, garage rockers Black Lips have released over a dozen full-lengths, including three live albums and a slew of split singles with other artists. Known for provocative and theatrical stage presentations, the current touring version of the band features two founding members, Cole Alexander and Jared Swilley. Guided Bird Walk of Oak Grove Loop

Join bird walk leaders on the Oak Grove Loop Trail, full of coastal live oaks and Engelmann oaks. Diverse habitats gives viewers the opportunity to see resident and migratory birds. Valley Arts Festival

Celebration of Oceanside and its first peoples, known as the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians, one of the seven tribes of the Luiseño nation. There will be drumming by Dancing Cloud Drumming Circle with dancer Raegan Olvera, and Native American flute music. View a three-quarter size Kíicha, the traditional home of the Luiseño people (a dome-shaped structure made of tule reeds and willow branches). Check out the basket weaving demo, storytelling area, gourd painting and jewelry making, and interactive community murals. There will be flutes, drums, artwork, clothing, jewelry, and Indian Fry Bread for sale.
