Blues diva Mercedes Moore wears many musical hats, among them that of a swing dance instructor who holds classes at area venues such as Queen Bee’s. Her Mercedes Moore Trio appears regularly at Gaslamp clubs and restaurants, and she just came off a successful performance at Gator By the Bay. The Mercedes Moore Band was nominated Best Blues at the 2012 San Diego Music Awards.
Tyler F. Simmons at La Valencia

Tyler F. Simmons is a solo performer who’s become a regular fixture at area restaurants, hotels, private clubs, and outdoor venues throughout southern California. He’s held residencies at Four Seasons Westlake Village and the Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage, as well as performing at the PGA Tour and for corporate clients such as Charles Schwab.
Lyrical Groove at UC San Diego Park & Market

The Intersections concert series presents The Lyrical Groove in Spoken Soul and Songversations. Lyrical Groove features producer and poet Kendrick Dial and multi-talented artist Brisa Lauren blending several musical genres with spoken word and live instrumentation. They’re a three-time San Diego Music Awards winner, for Best Hip-Hop/Soul Artist in 2013 and Best Hip-Hop/Soul Album in 2014 and 2017.
The Winehouse Experience at Music Box

The Winehouse Experience, Mia Karter Productions’ tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, performs with a horn section and choreographed background singers, all staged with what’s promoted as “Amy’s individual flair.” Aside from Winehouse’s own music, the production includes songs she covered over the years, including “It’s my Party,” “Cupid,” and “I Heard it Through the Grapevine.”
Deaf Club at Brick By Brick

Co- founded by Justin Pearson (The Locust, Dead Cross, Planet B), Deaf Club says they “approach music as an opportunity to confront our collective sicknesses.” Parts of their debut full-length Productive Disruption were recorded on the same day as the January 6, 2021 riot in Washington DC (the album was recently re-released in a limited VHS edition). The bill includes The HIRS Collective and The Gay Agenda.
