Uptown Rhythm Makers at Panama 66

Inspired by New Orleans dance bands of the 1920s and New Orleans revival bands of the 1940s through 1960s, the Uptown Rhythm Makers came together in 2003 to play traditional jazz in the New Orleans Dixieland style. Members also perform in around a dozen other local bands and orchestras, all well known in Dixieland trad circles.

The annual Switchfoot BRO-AM Beach Fest combines surfing, live music, and fundraising. Proceeds go toward providing grants to nonprofit organizations that provide services to homeless, at-risk and disadvantaged youth, especially programs related to music, art and surfing. The event emphasizes sustainable practices such as BYO reusable bottles, water refill stations, and waste education, to ensure a thriving future for children and our planet.

Cobby Brzeski is a multi-genre, multi-instrumental musical artist and songwriter originally from Naples, Florida. She writes, performs, and records original 1940s-inspired swing music. Her debut album Vintage Girl In A Modern World was partially recorded by Rolling Stones producer Alan Sanderson at local Pacific Beat Studio.

The members of local alt-folk heroes Mrs. Henry who make up the tribute band Chest Fever put aside their original songs to instead celebrate 55 years of music by Bob Dylan’s onetime rock-and-roll backing group The Band. The side-project got its start playing entire Band albums such as The Last Waltz, as chronicled in a short film documentary. The bill includes Harry Katz & the Pistachios.

Elvin Bishop is best known for his stint in the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and for 1970s hits such as “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.” This tour features him backed by Elvin Bishop’s Big Fun Trio, with Willy Jordan on cajon and vocals and Bob Welsh on guitar. They’ve released a couple of albums, including Something Smells Funky ‘Round Here. Opening the show will be the Johnny Vernazza Band.
