Mikan Zlatkovich at Golden Island

Born a musical prodigy in the former Yugoslavia, Mikan Zlatkovich started his professional jazz career as a teenager before moving to Belgrade. Eight years later, he relocated to New York, before settling in San Diego. His credits include gigs with Tony Scott, Clifford Jordan, Chet Baker, Ernie Wilkins, Anthony Wilson, Willie Jones III, and Charles McPherson. He appears as a sideman on around a dozen albums and has released several of his own recordings as band leader.
Wild Wild Wets at the Casbah

Wild Wild Wets was founded in 2011 by former members of the Old In Out, who had recently split. After paring down to a duo, Mike Turi and Taejon Romanik released their first album in four years in 2022, following up recently with The Soft Enemy EP, featuring B-sides and demos from their album Love Always. The bill includes Jjuujjuu and San Diego Freak Out DJs.
Mythraeum at Brick By Brick

Black metal quintet Mythraeum won the 2022 edition of the Wacken Metal Battle USA competition. Now signed to the local M-Theory Audio label and Salem Rose Music, they’ll debut a new album in Linda Vista, Oblivion Aeternam, preceded so far by a single for “Skies Torn Asunder.” Also appearing will be Donella Drive, Cerulean, Temblad, and Fistfights With Wolves.
Kahlee at Soda Bar

Rapper Kahlee grew up in Gardena, near Los Angeles, before relocating to Mira Mesa around 2007. He released his first solo record Man of Many Hats in 2008, followed by Blessed (2014) and his Here I Am EP (2015). His most recent single is “3 in the Chamber.” The bill includes Blu, 60 East, Noa James, and DJ Root.
The Routine at Belly Up Tavern

Based in Barrio Logan, funky soul rockers The Routine formed in the spring of 2013 when local stage actor Bryan Barbarin decided he wanted to move away from theater and start playing music. Barbarin is also known from local Steam Powered Giraffe, joining the costumed band in 2017 as a new character named Zero. The evening will also feature Monette Marino’s Purple Birthday Party with the Keita Band.
