When Dave Koz and Friends perform jazzy renditions of timeless Christmas classics on his 27th anniversary Christmas tour at downtown’s Balboa Theatre, they’ll be accompanied by local singer Rebecca Jade, who has been a part of the Koz tours for several years now. Locally, she’s the winner of several San Diego Music Awards, including for Best R&B, Funk or Soul Song and for Best Video.

The Stoney B. Blues Band is fronted by singer-guitarist Michael Stone, aka Stoney B., a transplant from New Orleans by way of Chicago whose father is Lil’ Howling Wolf, aka Jessie Sanders. With over 50 years of experience, his style most resembles the Chicago and Southern old school blues, with strong influences from Muddy Waters, BB King, and Jimmy Reed.

Manzanita Blues was formed in 2017 as a blues cover band, playing rockin’ blues around San Diego’s East County. They began writing and performing original music in 2019 and released their first CD in 2020, Manzanita Blues TO DAY (See Through Records). The San Carlos bill includes Stone Horse.

Blame Betty will throw a rockin’ dance party in the Ann Kulchin Courtyard at the Carlsbad City Library. The rockabilly, roots rock, and surf music band was formed in 2019. The group’s style is based upon the sounds of Sun Records and other artists from the 1950s, heavily influenced by Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Link Wray, and Johnny Cash, in addition to Southern California surf music.

The Marujah Record Release at the Casbah

Marujah describes their music as “Post Latin alternative gipsy noise destruction with ska punk peppered in for good measure.” The winners of two San Diego Music Awards for Best World Music Album will debut their new album Latency and its lead single “Sana,” a ska-punk song sung in Spanish and co-produced by John Avila of Oingo Boingo. The bill includes Martin & The Big Nativity Scene and The Cedar Shakers.
