Influenced by Britpop music and mod fashion, Pleasure Pill features frontman Jonah Paz (JINX!), alongside his brother Ethan Paz (rhythm guitar). They released their single “Not Giving Up” in summer 2023, followed by “Wonder How.” Early 2024 saw the release of a single and video for “I’d Rather Be.” The bill includes Nitefire and Intermission.

Los Shadows is known for playing classic indie shoegaze with occasional bits of psychedelic cumbia. Based in National City, the group is fronted by singer/guitarists Andy Saldana and Pepe Gonzalez. They’ve been on several national tours opening for Porter, Homeshake, Levitation Room, Tijuana Panthers, DIIV, and more.  The show is headlined by Ramona, with Cinemha slated to appear.

Steph Johnson is an award-winning recording artist and activist whose music blends jazz, soul, funk, and blues. She quit her job at a bank in 2009 to concentrate on being a full-time musician. She’s known for her work with the local Voices of Our City Choir, which competed in the 2020 live rounds of the America’s Got Talent TV competition.

The newest Songwriter Sanctuary features several locals taking turns in a round-robin style setup, telling the stories behind their music as they perform. The setting is an acoustically superb church that formerly hosted the Acoustic Music San Diego series. This month’s edition features Veronica May, Emily Afton, and Julianna Zachariou, with the evening hosted by Jeff Berkley (Berkley Hart).

Archie Thompson is a piano-and-sax-playing jazz and R&B singer based in San Carlos. His band the Archtones play around town and elsewhere. His music has been heard on television programs such as Snowfall, Claws, and Imposters. He performed the theme songs for several seasons of the cartoon Archer, and his song “Green Door” was heard in the film Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.
