Longtime Listen Local promoter Cathryn Beeks will gather around two dozen of the acts that have graced her concert and radio showcases over the past 20 years for a two-day outdoor musical celebration in Ramona, the Listen Local 20 Year Celebration. The bill includes Beeks’ own band Calamity, as well as Sande Lollis, Julia Sage, Whitney Shay, Lindsay White, Prairie Sky Band, Dave Michaels, Ken Gill, Sven-Erik Seaholm, Astra Kelly, Medium High, Chloe Lou, and many more.
Miniaturized is celebrating the release of their debut full-length album by performing it in its entirety, along with a liquid light projection show. The double vinyl LP will be available at the show along with shirts, stickers, and limited edition show posters featuring the art of Mark Sgarbossa, McHank, and Rick Froberg. The all-local lineup includes The Color Forty Nine, Scary Pierre, and Mistress77.
Pagan metal band Helsott’s name means “fatal illness” in Old Norse. They pay homage to pagan cultures and mythology with folk metal, death metal, symphonic metal, thrash, classical, and rock. The all-local all-metal bill includes Squirelly Arts, Nightshadow, Druide, and The Bastard Saints.
Co-founded by one of San Diego’s best-known rockers Justin Pearson (The Locust, Dead Cross, Planet B, etc.), Deaf Club has so far mainly played the Casbah, Soda Bar, and downtown’s House of Blues, where they just appeared in June. So it’s somewhat of a surprise to find the band staging a rare performance in South Park, where the Whistle Stop Bar has been booking an increasingly high profile selection of national touring artists. The bill includes Agonista.
Founded in 2014 and based in Carlsbad, Aviator Stash released their album Prescribed in 2018. Their full-length Psiyh took home a 2021 San Diego Music Award for Best Indie/Alternative Album. The Solana Beach bill includes The Charities.
