Regret De Anza Springs Resort leaving nude life

Todd Gloria has best million-dollar political consultant

He had the wistful expression of someone taking one last look at a love about to be lost.

Will miss nude weekends

I read your article, (“Naked Hostilities”, Cover Story, Oct. 26), with great interest. We used to travel to De Anza Springs Resort often from the time that the Landmans first opened the resort. It was our primary destination, especially after the Cedar Fire devastated the Swallows Sun Island Resort twenty years ago. The closing of another clothing-optional location comes with great sorrow. Your article was very insightful, but I must clarify one thing. It was mentioned that it was an adult resort. The Landmans always followed American Association for Nude Recreation policies that were family inclusive. There were often families with their young children there when we visited the resort.

When I first heard that the resort had been sold, I desperately wanted to believe that it would continue as a nude destination. Unfortunately, my fears became a reality. The remote location led me to believe that the drawing power was the freedom from clothing. I never thought that it could sustain as a textile location because there are countless clothed destinations that are much more convenient. I will miss all those nude weekend getaways to Jacumba.

Nakednesss as health tonic

It was with great sadness that I read of nudity being banned at the De Anza Resort, (“Naked Hostilities”, Cover Story, Oct. 26). Nudity is a health tonic, a natural and healthy adjunct to the immune system and more. I am a former Ironman triathlete and current endurance competitor. I have been running naked at the resort for the past five years. At seventy years old, taking no medication and no drugs, I attribute my stellar health on nudity. As for Covid, I rarely wore a mask, never got vaccinated and never once got sick. Americans unlike the Germans see nakedness as a perversion except those going au natural get the last laugh.

My friends and neighbors are repulsed by the showing of skin. I’m sorry to say those same ignorant people are all dead, many have passed of prostate cancer which according to the Mayo Clinic can be prevented by sunshine and vitamin D. It’s all a very sad and tragic tale on American culture, perhaps the most hypocritical culture on earth. The article failed to mention the nude 5k run a staple at the resort for years. I am truly sad but will continue to be devoted to health and fitness in a natural God given way.

Gloria can get away with it

Regarding: (“Why would Todd Gloria stoop to the Democratic Central Committee?”, News Under the Radar, Oct. 4, 2023) Because he can get away with it and be re-elected. Mr. Gloria has the best million-dollar political consultant money can buy, and the voters buy it.
