Last week, San Diego’s City Council voted 3 to 1 to approve the SDPD’s smart streetlight surveillance program, despite substantial public opposition. “Well of course they’re opposed,” said Council spokesman Tom Peeping. “Nobody wants to get caught being naughty, and most people are naughty at least some of the time. Really, whenever someone starts whining about rights, I start to wonder what they’ve done wrong, you know?”
