Sympathies for A Woman Scorned
Nathan Fletcher, the Gift that Keeps on Giving (“Key Todd Gloria backer Gil Cabrera gets hand slapped: Big stores, big money”, News Under the Radar, April 5). Actually our sympathies are with his devoted wife, Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher. She has stood by him, she has medical issues of her own, an important leadership job in Sacramento, and a respected career as a lawmaker. She deserves better. I often disagree with her (she invites dissent) but support her now.
Suspicious of The Other Woman
American mobs at it again. Just how long can you beat a dead horse before even a judge or jury convenes? (“Key Todd Gloria backer Gil Cabrera gets hand slapped: Big stores, big money”, News Under the Radar, April 5). Public opinion has run amok with disgraceful American hypocrisy.
For the untold millions of men and women in this so-called nation of high morals who have cheated on their spouses seek solace in Christ. Or better yet, see a shrink. But please stop beating a man on his knees. It is unbecoming and certainly a sign of weakness. Does anyone in their right mind honestly believe that there exists one side to this story?
Let us hear the Peruvian firecracker speak beginning with her very first encounter with Mr. Fletcher. When she first set eyes on him. Was she a true-blue American tease? I smell a rat. Sexual assault and harassment can be construed by twelve different people in twelve different ways. And by the way, I was Ron Burkle’s personal driver in the day.
Praise for Peterson’s prose
I really enjoyed Jake Peterson’s article (“Medicine on the Mountain”, Cover Story, April 5). The way he writes, it makes one feel they are there. Double Bonus is that he is able to slip in lines that makes one laugh out loud. Very enjoyable read!
Leave Balboa Park space open
I regularly walk up Park Blvd. to Balboa Park from downtown. 2 Sundays ago there were 2 scooters. this past Thurs., there were no bikes or scooters. This Sunday there were 1 bike and 2 scooters. One two way bike/scooter lane on the east side would be more than ample for this small traffic. Leave the west side open for parking and park access. And please – do not give up a parking lot for the homeless. There is not enough parking spots as it is!
