Chest Fever (members of Mrs. Henry) will be performing The Last Waltz, an ode to The Band’s iconic 1976 concert performance, on November 26 at The Magnolia in El Cajon.
Also appearing will be Scarlet Rivera (Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue), Grammy Award winning guitarist Albert Lee, Marc Ford (The Black Crowes), and Eagles songwriter Jack Tempchin.
The Holy Ghost is an improvisational production directed by Zane Alexander and interpreted by an ensemble of fourteen San Diego musicians of all ages and musical backgrounds.
On December 2 at the Athenaeum Art Center School of the Arts, Alexander will be joined by soprano sax soloist Ryan Ebaugh to guide the band through a multi-movement structured improvisation.
Based in Ocean Beach, Crucial Blend plays reggae with ska-punk roots and hip-hop flavor. Their recent Cruel World EP was nominated for a San Diego Music Award, their third SDMA nomination.
They’ll play Winstons November 30 on a bill that includes Safety Orange, whose recent single “Get Outta My Way” came with a sleeve illustrated by Dead & Company gig poster artist Mark Sgarbossa.
Screamo metalcore band SeeYouSpaceCowboy features former members of René Descartes, alongside members of Letters To Catalonia.
Their recent sophomore album The Romance of Affliction features singer Keith Buckley (Every Time I Die), singer Aaron Gillespie (Underoath), rapper SHAOLIN G, and members of If I Die First, who released a split-EP with the band earlier this year. They’ll play Brick By Brick on November 29.
Spray Allen is an alternative rock band with a “new psychedelic” blend of ‘70s and ‘90s influences, brought together by skateboard icon Danny Way. The group was founded by drummer Wade Youman (Unwritten Law, Demasiado) and bassist Eric Wilson (Sublime, Long Beach Dub Allstars).
Their debut album sessions included guests such as keyboardist and horn player Gabrial McNair (No Doubt) and Stu Brooks (Dub Trio), They’ll play Sunday, November 27 at Soda Bar in City Heights.
