Wally World & King Neptune

Wally World & King Neptune is a comedic rock band from Encinitas featuring singer-guitarist Wally Passet (Snakebyte, King Neptune), alongside Ben Petrella (Echelons, the Drive-Ins, King Neptune) and Loren Kofsky (Infidelz). “Just finished up a new album made up of a few new songs and a few old songs,” reports the band. “There’s a few dropouts on the old stuff, ancient recordings, but the new tunes sound good.” The album was mastered by Louis Petrella (Sorry It’s Over).

Cindy Lee Berryhill

Cindy Lee Berryhill began earning notice in 1987 with her acclaimed first album and hit song “Damn, I Wish I Was a Man.” A book by her late husband Paul Williams, Only Apparently Real, is the basis of an upcoming biographical movie about cult author Philip K. Dick, whose works inspired Blade Runner, Total Recall, and The Man in the High Castle. Williams was once a friend of the author and literary executor of Dick’s estate.

Mrs Henry

Mrs. Henry’s Chest Fever project, a tribute to Bob Dylan’s onetime group The Band, will be touring and playing songs from the Rock of Ages live album to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. They’ll perform alongside local horn sections from each city to recreate the original contributions from Howard Johnson, Snooky Young, Joe Farrell, J.D. Parron, and Earl McIntyre, along with occasional guests to re-create Bob Dylan’s four-song set. The tour hits the Casbah on July 29.

Diana Death

Diana Death is a vet of Johnny Thunders tribute Chinese Rocks, as well as Gory Details and The Very. She’s also toured with Billy Rath of the Heartbreakers and has worked with local Zeroes hero El Vez, Greg Ginn (Black Flag), and minimalist electro-artist Erleen Nada. Her new collaboration with guitarist David Robles (Wha?, Marsupials, White Mule, Scary Pierre), “Disease,” is now available on Spotify and BandCamp.

Amy Day

Amy Day of Spiritual Motels and The Local wrote a musical called In the Midst of Plenty, about historical events during Ireland’s Great Famine. Having staged it in the Irish town where it happened, selling out the entire run and earning rave reviews, she’ll be putting on a second set of shows in September. Drummer Jules Stewart is also involved.
