Navy issues redesign for Seal Team 7 patch following yet another incident

Seal-ed with a Kiss

Newly updated patch for Seal Team 7. Says Special Operations Communications Officer Rick Arterial, “Frankly, we’re not bothered. Eagles are fierce and all, but at a certain point, their stern, unyielding dignity can get in the way of getting the job done, you know? To say nothing of making the job fun. But the Orang-bati, now there’s a flying critter that understands infiltrating a remote village, striking in darkness, and taking no prisoners. Well, taking some prisoners, but only because they’re going to kill them later. And just look at his face: that ‘Yeah, you got me, but what are you gonna do about it?’ hangdog look in the eye, that mischievous grin. There’s a guy who knows how to have fun, but also spill the blood of his enemies. That’s us all over. The devil’s trident pricks a bit, but it’s really not that big a stretch from what was there before.”

Seal Team Seven member Special Warfare Operator First Class Adel Enayat has been charged with sexual assault in San Diego following an alcohol-related incident at a 2019 Fourth of July party in Iraq with a female sailor. Enayat denies the charges, which include strangling and biting, and his lawyer, Jeremiah Sullivan, says that he can’t get a fair trial anyway, not after the whole Edward Gallagher mess. (Seal Team Seven member Gallagher was charged with the murder of an Iraqi civilian, and while he was acquitted, the controversy surrounding the case was considerable.) Whatever happens in the case, the Navy found the situation dire enough to withdraw troops from the war-torn region, and now, it has taken the further step of issuing a redesigned patch for the team. Says Navy Patchman Ronald Swank, “The thing speaks for itself.”
