CEO of Relyonus Medical Group’s French Country Castle

The residence boasts five kitchens and 11 baths

The good news is there’s a kitchen by the pool, so you don’t have to trudge up to the main house if you just want to whip up a quick multi-course feast during swim-time.
The good news is there’s a kitchen by the pool, so you don’t have to trudge up to the main house if you just want to whip up a quick multi-course feast during swim-time.

“Rancho Santa Fe meets French Country Castle” is how listing materials describe Chateau Enchante, the mega-mansion located at 16902 Via Cuesta Verde in Fairbanks Ranch, a neighborhood composed entirely of two private gated communities just south of Rancho Santa Fe.

Built in 1991 by award-winning Encinitas architect Don Edson, the estate includes nearly 15,000 square feet of indoor living space, split between the main residence and a guest cottage and housed on 3.6 acres. “Rustic wood gates open to a manicured flagstone circular driveway” from the private cul de sac, while the rest of the grounds are “complete with lush landscaping” that includes “a variety of plants and trees on tiered levels with large boulders and gardens.”

Inside, the main residence boasts not just one chef’s quality show kitchen but also three additional professional kitchens to “host as many guests as your heart desires.” (There’s a fifth outdoor kitchen under the gazebo by the pool area to boot.)

A dining room fit for a king — or maybe the owner of a company that sells medical implants. Or maybe you!

A “massive 20’ solid wood door opens to a grand foyer that includes a fireplace and a formal sitting area, along with oversized French doors that reveal the rose garden and water feature just outside;” a 1750-square-foot great room with 40’ wood-beam ceilings provides entertainment space. Meanwhile, “custom faux paint art frescoes enhance and accent the home’s finishes.” Those include luxury touches like flooring made from bocote (an exotic wood native to Mexico), a Sonos sound system that provides wireless access to multi-zone music, and remote-controlled lighting and smart home features accessible from the owner’s mobile phone. A newly-installed solar system keeps the electric bill for all that technology in check.

Stained glass windows provide accents “for the perfect light flow,” and are covered with “custom hand-made window treatments” complemented by imported European chandeliers found throughout the home. Rock walls, wood paneling, and exposed beam ceilings are prevalent throughout the interior, which boasts three en-suite bedrooms in addition to the master, which has its own sitting area and fireplace (one of the estate’s 11). In total, the home includes nine bedrooms and 11 baths.

Getting back outside, the grounds include a large koi pond with water features, along with a “wishing well and bridge over the bubbling creek” to “add serenity and charm.” Numerous patios and covered structures offer outdoor spaces to lounge, while a “resort style pool and waterfall and 10-person jacuzzi can add a great entertaining touch.” There’s also a private tennis/basketball court thrown in for good measure.

Public records indicate ownership of Chateau Enchante lies with the Yacullo family, husband Victor is the CEO of Relyonus Medical Group, an outfit that sells medical devices and implants used in surgical procedures. The Yacullos purchased the home in 2016 for a reported $4.8 million, $400,000 less than another sale reported in 2015 at $5.2 million.

After just two years of ownership, the home was listed for sale for $9,999,888 in August 2018. The property went on and off market several times over the year that followed, and it was most recently re-listed after an expiration in late June, with the asking price unchanged to date.
