Harbor Patrol resurrect thankful man at Cabrillo Marina

Harbor Patrol responded to the Harbor Patrol Guest slips to investigate a fuel spill. Harbor Patrol located the suspect vessel and issued a citation to the owner.

Harbor Patrol documented a rainbow sheen observed near the Kona Kai Marina and the Harbor Patrol Guest slips. All regional environmental agencies were contacted.

Harbor Patrol responded to the Americas Cup Harbor, A-3 Anchorage to investigate an attempted theft. The reporting party showed Harbor Patrol where an unknown person attempted to steal a search light from the bow of his vessel. Harbor Patrol is investigating and documented the damage which was believed to be around $500.

Harbor Patrol arrested a subject for an outstanding warrant that was staying at the Harbor Patrol Guest Slips.

Harbor Patrol is investigating an accident that occurred near the Carrier Basin, mid-San Diego Bay. The accident was between two small vessels that were in a head-on collision. There were several injuries and two people were ejected from the boat into the water.

Harbor Patrol was dispatched to investigate a theft of crab pots that were taken from a commercial fishing boat in Tuna Harbor. During the investigation it was found the crab pots were not taken, but thrown overboard and submerged under the boat. Harbor Patrol is investigating and viewing video surveillance.

Harbor Patrol units were dispatched to a subject who jumped in the water around the B Street Cruise Ship Pier. The subject was found to be under the influence of drugs and was transported to the hospital. Criminal charges were also filed.

Harbor Patrol units were dispatched to assist a boater who struck a shoal in south San Diego Bay and was taking on water. Harbor Patrol responded and rescued the people from the vessel. Harbor Patrol then towed the vessel into the nearby boat yard where they pumped out the water and will eventually take it out of the water for repair.

Harbor Patrol units responded to a female that jumped into the water at the embarcadero and then screamed she needed help. Harbor Patrol arrived to find that people in the area assisted her out of the water. She was transported to the hospital for further evaluation by the medics.

Harbor Patrol issued a citation to a boater in the Shelter Island basin for not having proper registration on his vessel.

Harbor Patrol issued a citation to a boater in north San Diego Bay for not having any navigation lights.

Harbor Patrol documented some damage to a vessel that was attempting to conduct some work under a bridge. When the vessel went under the bridge it received damage to the mast due to it hitting the underside of the bridge.

Harbor Patrol responded to a medical call in the Cabrillo Marina. Upon arrival, they located an unresponsive subject aboard the vessel. Harbor Patrol and a couple other people conducted CPR with an AED and after some time were able to bring the subject back to life. Medics arrived and transported the subject to the hospital where he will undergo testing. The subject was thankful and is happy to still be alive.

The US Coast Guard located a dinghy adrift in South Bay near Fiddlers Cove.  They delivered the dinghy to Harbor Patrol who then stored it to look for the rightful owner.

Harbor Patrol issued a citation to a boater in the A-1 La Playa Cove Anchorage for not having a valid permit. Due to this subject receiving several citations and warnings he was placed on a 60-day restriction from using any of Harbor Police anchorages or slips.

Harbor Patrol stored 2 kayaks, 4 dinghies and jet-ski from a beach next to the A-1 Anchorage due to them being in violation of a no beaching regulation.

Harbor Patrol units were dispatched to investigate an environmental incident at H&M Landing involving a commercial vessel. Employees were sanding the vessel and allowing particles to get into the water. The US Coast Guard and environmental agencies were notified and will be investigating further.

Harbor Patrol investigated a crime where a subject damaged the motor to a vessel he used to live on. The vandalism is under investigation.
