Boater and dog rescued off tidepools at Point Loma after running aground

Harbor Patrol documented some graffiti that was painted on the underside of a bridge.

Harbor Patrol issued a citation to a boater in the A-1 La Playa Cove anchorage for not having a valid permit.  

Harbor Patrol responded to investigate a dinghy that was stolen from a dock near the Americas Cup Harbor. Harbor Patrol is currently investigating.

Harbor Patrol units were dispatched to investigate a crime that occurred to a vessel attached to a mooring ball in the Americas Cup Harbor. The report was possible sabotage/damage done to the components of a motor.

Harbor Patrol was called to a vessel adrift near the B Street Cruise Ship Pier as a cruise ship was approaching. Harbor Patrol towed the vessel out of the way of the ship and called for Tow Boat US to take it to a storage yard.

13:45 Boating: Near Collision west side of Vacation Island, kayakers report over VHF16 that a 12’ duffy boat driving erratically in the area. Lifeguard vessel contacts both parties and clears.

14:14 Boating: Received a 911 call of a boat on the rocks at the tide pools in Point Loma with individuals in the water. Lifeguard vessel, Jet Ski units, San Diego Police, and Federal Fire respond and rescue one person and one dog off vessel. Vessel to remain on rocks, anchor set, 25 gallons of fuel on board and incident report to US Coast Guard.

14:44 Enforcement: Reporting Party reports 3 erratic Jet Skis near his fishing lines at Fiesta Island. Lifeguard vessel unable to locate.

15:17 Medical: Caller reports being stung by stingray in the vicinity of Redondo Court. Lifeguard responds for 35-year-old male with a stingray wound, transfers the patient to Pacific Beach tower for hot water treatment.

15:50 Medical: Major diagnostic medical aid of an unconscious 25-year-old male at 4190 Mission Blvd. Lifeguard responds and reports fire personnel were on scene and clears the call.

17:17 Boating: Children’s Pool guards report a kayak taking on water off Point La Jolla. Lifeguard Jet Ski and boat units respond to sinking kayak. Jet unit rescues two victims and tows kayak to boat launch.

17:27 Boating: Received a 911 call of a vessel close to surf off the Crystal Pier with no engine power and two persons on board. Lifeguard vessel responds and provides an emergency tow to launch ramp.

11:15 Medical: diabetic emergency at Brighton & Abbott St. Lifeguard, emergency and medical units respond. Medical to handle

11:26 Boating: Outrigger canoe in peril in Mission Bay channel. Multiple lifeguard units respond. Lifeguard vessel tows canoe to Bonita Cove.

12:48 Medical: Stingray wound Tourmaline via call box. Lifeguard responds and accesses routine stingray treatment and transports patient to Pacific Beach tower. Patient treated and released.

13:27 Boating 10 ft. laser on the rocks at the Weir. Lifeguard vessel and US Customs vessel respond. US Customs vessel Stone Gardens first on scene and tows boat to South Shores boat ramp. Lifeguard clear.

14:07 Medical: 50-year-old female bike accident at Kennel Way & El Paseo Grande. Lifeguard, medical units respond. Medical transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

14:52 Medical: Bike accident 79-year-old male altered level of consciousness at San Jose Place. Lifeguard, medical units respond. Patient advised and released.

16:54 Medical: Assault at 4190 Mission Blvd. Stand back for San Diego Police and Medics to handle.

23:18 Swimmer: 911 transfer from San Diego Police dispatch of 59-year-old male, suicide attempt at Crystal Pier. Patient in 4 ft. of water and attempting to drown himself. Lifeguard, San Diego Police and medical units on scene/responding. San Diego Police also have a 10-16 (domestic) related to the call. Medical unit transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

02:51 Medical/Cliff: Cliff fall on a mid-30’s male. Lifeguard and full San Diego Fire Department cliff respond. Lifeguards assisted Fire personnel with setting up a secondary system if the Helicopter couldn’t extricate patient. Copter landed on the beach and transported patient to UCSD.

11:11 Other: Report of person setting clothes on fire at Jamaica Court. Lifeguard units respond. Lifeguards cancel, San Diego Fire put out the fire.

11:12 Medical: Lifeguard requests medics to the Casa Lifeguard station on a 30-year-old female who is experiencing altered mental status. Lifeguards, Fire and Medics respond. Patient advised and released.

13:15 Boating: Vessel dead in the water off the Mission Bay channel with 4 persons on board. Lifeguard units respond. Lifeguard vessel tows vessel to Dana Landing.

14:34 Boating: Engine problems on a 21ft Bayliner with 4 persons on board. Lifeguard vessel responds and provides an emergency tow to De Anza boat ramp
