Noah Roistacher frequents O.B. a couple times a week. On this December early evening, Roistacher doesn’t mind the colder waters.
“As long as you’ve got a wetsuit, you’ll be fine. You’ll see guys out there with holes in their wetsuits just nar-doggin’ it and they’re fine.”
Perks of surfing in the winter include better waves and less people. “In the winter a lot more swell hits frequently,” he said. “There’s less crowds, a lot more powerful wave, definitely more size to the wave, and a more consistent swell.”
Roistacher’s favorite surf memory, “I would say a couple of my friends from home just driving really early in the morning and getting to Cape Hatteras, in North Carolina. We’d roll up on the spot, have food in the back, and we’d surf all day. Out in the sun with friends, and nobody else is really out and we’d find secret spots and stuff, it’s a really cool experience.”
