  • 13:35 Medical: 911 call for slip and fall on rocks at 555 Coast Blvd (Wedding Bowl). U32, 3Sam, Engine 13, and Medic 9 respond. Lifeguards treat victim at Lifeguard station, medics canceled.
  • 14:45 Cliff: 911 call of victim stuck on rocks at Del Monte. Victim is elderly and having trouble walking. 1 Sam requests southern area cliff response. 1Sam, 1 L, 2Sam, Engine 15, Medic 5, and Rescue 44 respond. Sunset Command established at 15:03. Victim extricated via low-angle system. Medic 5 transports to Scripps Mercy.

Rescuer over edge at 15:19. Victim up top at 15:32. Command terminated at 15:38. Medic 41 transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

  • 11:35 Medical: 911 call for a surfer that was cut by his skeg under the rib cage. 1Sam, Engine 22 and Medic 2 respond. Patient advised to seek further medical aid by fire.
  • 14:46 Boating: VHF call for a sinking vessel 1 ½ miles off Point Loma. Jet 1, Rescue 4, Marine 1 and Tow Boat U.S. respond. Marine 1 pumps out vessel and Tow Boat U.s provides tow for the 37’ sail boat.
  • 19:50 Boating: Report of a capsized vessel off Moorland. Rescue 5 and 24Sam respond via land. 7’ dinghy, right side up, no persons around. Dinghy is towed back to operations dock for impound.

  • 08:25 Medical: San Diego Police Department requests lifeguard assistance at South Mission Beach to evaluate a male swimmer exiting the water after struggling. U23 and 2Sam respond. While lifeguard units are in route, patient tells police that he does not need medical assistance and escapes the scene.
  • 09:06 Medical/Swimmer: Ocean Beach lifeguards request a surfboat, Code 3, for 2 surfers possibly injured on South Channel Jetty. Rescue 7, Rescue 5, and Utility 1 respond and report that one female surfer sustained a head injury from a fall on the rocks. Patient is extricated. Rescue 5 transports patient to lifeguard reception dock and turns over patient to Medic 9 and Truck 20. Medic 9 transports patient to Scripps La Jolla hospital.
  • 10:08 Medical: 31Sam requests paramedics to La Jolla Shores for a 45 year-old male with facial trauma from a surfing accident. Engine 9 and Medic 35 respond. Medic 35 transports patient to Scripps La Jolla hospital.
  • 13:50 Medical: Mission Beach lifeguards request paramedics to Mission Beach main tower for an unknown age patient with a shoulder injury. Medic 4 responds and transports patient to UCSD hospital.
  • 17:00 Cliff/Swimmer: 911 call reporting losing visual of 3 surfers in the fog at 2nd parking lot, Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Reporting party is concerned for their safety. 1Sam, Rescue 5, Unit 12, Rescue 44, 2 Lincoln, and Engine 15 respond. 1 surfer comes out clear and advises there are still 2 surfers out. Engine 15 reports visual of 2 surfers inside Pappy’s Point. 1 surfer is rescued via handline and 2nd surfer is rescued via Rescue 44 evolution. No medical attention needed.
  • 17:32 Boating: 911 call reporting party states that they are at Dog Beach and heard 2 to 3 horn blasts from an air horn. Reporting party is concerned it may be a vessel in distress. Rescue 5, returning from previous call, heard the air horn as well and believed it may be a sportfishing boat warning as it entered the Mission Bay Channel. Rescue 4 responds and investigates. Nothing heard or seen. All clear.

Parker with 3 persons on board and 20 gallons of fuel. 1Sam, 1 L, Rescue 5, Jet 1, Jet 2, and Federal Fire respond. Jet 1 makes initial rescue of victims. Rescue 5 tows vessel outside surf line and turns over to Tow Boat US for salvage. Rescue 5 transports victims to Dana Landing.

  • 11:03 Boating: Ocean Beach request rescue boat for 2 PWCs in the surf at Little Rock. Rescue 7, and Jet 1 respond. All persons on board accounted for. Operators issued citations at buoy line by R3.
  • 14:04 Swimmer: 911 call of surfer in distress at Osprey Cove. Jet 1, Rescue West, and 1Sam respond. Jet 1 makes rescue.

  • 12:57 Boating: Reporting party states overturned vessel at Dolphin Tanks. Jet1, 1Sam, Rescue West, and San Diego Harbor Police respond. Rescue West tows vessel from peril and hands over to Sea Tow for salvage.
  • 13:49 Medical: Pacific Beach guards request medics for 25 year-old male possible broken nose from a surfing accident. Medic 12 respond. Patient advised to seek further medical aid by M12.
  • 14:16 Swimmer: Callbox report of surfer in distress at Osprey. 1Sam, Jet 2, and Rescue West respond. Jet 2 makes the rescue and reunites surfer with board.
  • 16:38 Swimmer: Engine 15 reports a person precarious on the ledge at Osprey. Jet 1 and 1Sam respond. Person self-rescue and all units are clear.
  • 16:55 Swimmer: Casa reports 2 people in distress outside Wipeout. U32, Jet 3, Rescue West, and 31Sam respond. Jet 3 makes the rescues and drops victims at South Casa beach.
