This week's big new release is very big: Avengers: Infinity War is here to mash up The Avengers, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and probably a bunch of other stuff into a cinema event that, happily, actually feels like an event. It ain't perfect, but it does have substance. (THEMATIC SPOILER: I kind of enjoyed the whole English Patient vs. Casablanca vibe of seeing multiple heroes reject the idea of sacrificing yourself to save half the universe.)
Outside of Infinity, Scott had a pretty good week, taking in and enjoying Ghost Stories and The Rider, and absolutely loving 24 Frames. But it could be that all those good reviews got him worried about his critical edge, which may be why he went back and took a look at I Feel Pretty and Truth or Dare. Can I still write a good pan? Yes, yes I can.
