Latest to tithe is utility giant Sempra Energy, currently fighting locals who want to ends its electricity distribution monopoly, coming up with $5000 to the San Diego Regional Task Force on the Homeless on September 19. Roberts shared credit for the money with San Diego city councilman Chris Ward, according to an October 17 disclosure report.
It isn’t the first time Sempra has anted up for a Roberts cause. On March 8 of last year, he picked up $7500 of the power company’s money to pay for the supervisors’ annual state-of-the-county address, per a March 30 disclosure. Meanwhile, Sempra was a $5000 contributor to Democratic assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez’s Our Voice, Our Vote ballot measure committee on September 27 of this year.
