Start off the jazz week in San Diego with a free, noon-time concert featuring pianist Joshua White and trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos at the Lyceum Theatre (79 Horton Plaza)…. Stephanie Richards + Phantom Station: Conduction for Butch Morris featuring Ivan Trujillo play the Loft @ UCSD (911 Lyman Lane) at 8 p.m. with Architeuthis Walks on Land opening. No cover charge.

KSDS Jazz 88 presents Jazz Live from the campus of San Diego City College (14th & B Street) featuring the Dave Pell Octet. Doors open at 7:30, concert starts at 8 p.m. Free to Jazz 88 members, $10 general admission.
