Monday 9
Bassist Gunnar Biggs kicks off the jazz week with a Tribute to Mose Allison at Dizzy’s (1717 Morena Boulevard) at 8 p.m. with Tripp Sprague, John Opferkuch, Duncan Moore, Ruby Etoire, and Robin Henkel. Tickets run $15 cash at the door… There’s a jam session going down at Busalacchi’s A Modo Mio (3707 Fifth Avenue) with Louis Valenzuela, Fernando Gomez, and Mackenzie Leighton from 6 to 9 p.m. No cover charge.

Tuesday 10
KSDS Jazz Live presents a rare appearance by the Mark Dresser Quintet, featuring Nicole Mitchell, Joshua White, Michael Dessen and Kjell Nordeson at the Saville Theatre on the campus of City College (14th and C Street). Doors open at 7:30, concert at 8. Free to members, $10 general admission.

Gilbert Castellanos presents the Young Lions Series featuring Edward Gabrielyan on keyboard at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) at 6 p.m. At 8:30, Castellanos leads the jam session until 11:30 p.m. All ages, no cover, musicians bring your instruments… The Nathan Hubbard Trio featuring Branson NeJame and Harley Magsino play Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) from 9 p.m. to Midnight.
