At the Ocean Beach farmers' market on August 16, I noticed Colton sitting in for his boss — a chiropractor — who was on a vacation.
“I’m just out here maintaining a presence,” he casually told me while Tank Girl sat in his lap enjoying a shoulder massage. “I got her in Virginia as I was leaving the Army and raised her in Wisconsin for three years — raised her out there in the woods and brought her with me when I moved here.”
Is this a business? Pet massages? As it appeared that’s what was happening.
“Probably, he said. “But this is guided peditation.”
Like, meditation for pets?
“Yes, find your inner puppy,“ he whispered as Tank Girl shifted positions, carefully placing her paws on his open palms, “She’s seven now, but has always been super chill; she’s never been hyper…the snuggle is real.”
