April 22

— HP issued a citation to the owner of an illegally anchored vessel in the A1 anchorage (La Playa Cove).

April 21

— HP issued a citation to the owner of an illegally moored vessel at the HP guest slips on Shelter Island.

April 20

— HP took a report for a missing dinghy in a S. Bay marina. The owner believes the vessel wasn’t stolen but that it became untied and drifted away.

— HP responded near the Coronado Bay Bridge for the report of subjects in the water near a PWC. HP located a female and child with a disabled PWC. Subjects taken on board HP vessel and transported to local marina.

April 19

— HP conducted a welfare check of a sailboat that was aground on Gunpowder Point in S. Bay. No one was on board and there were no environmental concerns. HP did locate the owner who is working with an insurance company to have the vessel towed to a boatyard for destruction.

— HP responded to a call of a male subject in the water. Subject was located and taken to waiting ambulance for transport to hospital for medical and mental disorder evaluation.

— HP issued a citation to a vessel owner for an improper lighting violation.

April 18

— HP located a small dinghy adrift in the N. Bay channel. The dinghy towed to and stored at HP Shelter Island station for being a hazard to navigation.

April 17

— HP took a petty theft report from the Shelter Island launch ramp area for a cooler and backpack that was taken from a vessel at the launch ramp dock.

— HP responded to a call of a subject threatening his father with a shotgun in N. Bay. HP located involved parties and found to be a verbal argument only.

April 16

— HP responded to and investigated a non-injury vessel collision between two vessels that were anchored in N. Bay for the Red Bull Air Race event. Minor damage sustained to both vessels.

— HP responded to a call for a noise complaint in La Playa Cove. HP located three subjects on board an anchored dredging barge. Two of the subjects were taken into protective custody for public intoxication and one was arrested for boating under the influence.

— HP responded to call of a possible vessel fire in a N. Bay marina. Upon arrival, officers found no active smoke or fire. A small electrical fire in the engine room was extinguished by a neighboring tenant on the dock. There was very little damage to the vessel.
