Monday 19
The Danny Green Trio with Justin Grinnell and Julien Cantelm play the Lyceum Theater (79 Horton Plaza) from Noon to 1 p.m. No cover charge… The Bob Boss Quartet with Gilbert Castellanos, Dean Hulett, and Richard Sellers play the North Coast Rep (987 Lomas Santa Fe Drive) at 7:30 p.m. $22 at the door.

Wednesday 21
Gilbert Castellanos begins the first of two gigs at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) at 6 p.m. when he hosts the Young Lions Series outside on the patio, and continuing indoors at 8:30 where he leads the jam session until 11 p.m. All ages, no cover.

The GPS & M Quartet with Justin Grinnell, Jim Plank, Tripp Sprague, and Duncan Moore play a concert at Palomar College in the Howard Brubeck Theatre (1140 West Mission Road) at 12:30 p.m. Free.

Friday 23
The Orange Tabby Trio with Alex Chiaverelli on guitar, Jason Littlefield on bass, and Nathan Hubbard on drums play the Happy Hour at the Handlery Hotel (950 Hotel Circle North) at 5:30 p.m. No cover, no minimum… Gilbert Castellanos leads a trio with Mike Wofford on piano and Mackenzie Leighton on bass at the Westgate Hotel Plaza Bar at 8 p.m. No cover, but there is a $20 food/drink minimum.

Pianist Geoffrey Keezer plays a rare hometown gig for Athenaeum Jazz at TRSI (10620 John Jay Hopkins Drive), featuring Joe Locke, Keola Beamer, Denis Donatelli, and Gillian Margot at 7:30 p.m. $35 general admission, $30 members, $15 student rush… Gilbert Castellanos presents A Tribute to the Latin Jazz Masters with Justo Almario, Tommy Aros, Irving Flores, Omar Lopez, Lorraine Castellanos, Giancarlo Anderson, and a special performance by the International Academy of Jazz at the Pier South Resort (800 Seacoast Drive) from 6 to 9:30 p.m. $20 VIP seating is available… Juice Box with Matthew Smith, Ed Kornhauser, Harley Magsino, and Louis Valenzuela join many other artists at the Adams Avenue Street Fair from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Juice Box sets up at DiMilles Restaurant parking lot from 7:15 to 8:15… Lower Left with Cecil McBee, Mikan Zlatkovich, and Barry Farrar play Northern Spirits (727 West San Marcos Boulevard) from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. No cover charge.

Start the busy jazz Sunday with the Family Jazz Jam session at Bourre (6523 University Avenue) with Gary Rich, Dean Hulett, and Matthew Smith. No cover, but it is a restaurant… The Adams Avenue Street Fair continues with The B-Side Players, Jungle Fire, Sugar Ray Rayford Blues Band, Lisa Haley & the Zydecats, the Dave Scott Jazz Ensemble, and more from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free… Drummer Albert “Tootie” Heath joins the Richard Sears Jazz Quintet at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) at 8 p.m. for $20 cash at the door.
