San Diego cops are having trouble keeping track of their weapons stash, based on an inventory of lost or missing firearms recently released by the city after a request under the California public records act.
So far this year, according to the documents, four bean-bag shotguns have been reported lost or stolen. Last year, a handgun was reported to be in the same status, along with two bean-bag shotguns. In 2014, two real shotguns went missing, along with two bean-bag weapons.
The year before that was even worse, with four rifles lost or stolen and a shotgun and handgun also waylaid.
