Tuesday 1
The Danny Green Trio with Justin Grinnell on bass and Julien Cantelm on drums play 3rd Space (4610 Park Boulevard) at 8 p.m. They play a set and then open it up for a jam session. Ten bucks gets you in the door.

Wednesday 2
Gilbert Castellanos begins the first of his two gigs at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) at 6 p.m. when he hosts pianist Jason Picker for the one-year celebration of the Young Lions Series on the patio before heading indoors to lead the jam session from 8:30 until 11:30. All ages, no cover… Leonard Patton and Michael Peed play duo at the La Valencia Hotel (1132 Prospect Street) at 6 p.m. No cover charge.

Thursday 3
Trumpeter Stephanie Richards leads a quintet featuring Chris Speed on alto saxophone, Michael Dessen on trombone, Mark Dresser on bass, and Andrew Munsey on drums playing her own original music at the Loft (911 Lyman Lane) at 8 p.m. No cover charge, all ages.

Friday 4
Fresh Sound presents Sarah Cahill playing a solo piano concert at Bread & Salt (1955 Julian Avenue) at 7:30 p.m. $15 general admission, $10 students… The Nathan Hubbard Skeleton Key Quartet with Grant Fisher and Nate Jarrell on guitars and Harley Magsino on bass play the Encinitas Library (540 Cornish Drive) at 7 p.m. $12 at the door… Gilbert Castellanos presents Jazz at the Westgate in the Plaza Bar (1055 Second Avenue) with Rob Thorsen and Irving Flores at 8 p.m. $20 food/drink minimum.

Saturday 5
Dependent Origination featuring Alex Cline, Dave Sewelson, Dan Clucas, Peter Kuhn, and Scott Walton play Bread & Salt at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10, kids free… Robin Adler & Mutts of the Planet featuring Dave Blackburn and John Quint play the later music of Joni Mitchell at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) at 8 p.m. $20 cash at the door.

Sunday 6
Vocalist Leonard Patton and pianist Ed Kornhauser play the Turf Supper Club (1116 25th Street) at 8 p.m. No cover charge.
