Harbor patrol pulls and impounds

October 15

— HP responded to the 5th Avenue Landing for a jet ski that was abandoned. HP located the ski which was a rental ski from Seaforth Boat Rentals. The ski was found tied up to the rip rap rock next to the landing. The jet ski was impounded and was returned to Seaforth.

— HP boarded a vessel that was towed to the HP dock by the USCG. HP assisted the CG with their investigation and impounded some narcotics that were onboard the vessel.

— HP assisted two boaters that were stranded near buoy #20 in SD Bay. Due to their motor not working, HP towed their vessel back to the launch ramp.

October 12

— HP located several commercial lobster fishing traps that were in the main shipping channel between buoys 7-8. The traps were a potential hazard to navigation so they were pulled and impounded.

— HP located a vessel at the Harbor Police guest docks without a valid permit. The vessel was towed by Vessel Assist to the impound yard at South Bay Marine Group.

October 10

— HP located an adrift dinghy near the Grape Street piers that was creating a hazard to navigation. The vessel was impounded at the Harbor Police Impound dock.

— HP observed a subject about to tag the underside of the pier at Bay side Park Chula Vista. HP caught him in the act and issued him a citation for the violation.

October 9

— HP contacted three subjects on the Harbor Police guest docks and issued them all citations for fishing without a license.

October 6

— HP were dispatched to the Chula Vista Marina to investigate a possible hit and run involving two large vessels. The investigation found there was no hit and run but it was a civil matter between two owners of the vessel and a court order.

October 5

— HP issued two citations to boaters who were illegally anchored in the A-9 Anchorage at the south end of Harbor Island.

October 4

— HP was dispatched to the A-3 Anchorage for a dinghy adrift causing a hazard to navigation. The dinghy was impounded at the Harbor Police impound dock.

— HP located an adrift dinghy under a pier near the downtown Embarcadero. The dinghy was impounded at the Harbor Police impound dock.

— HP was dispatched to the area of the Island Prime Restaurant near Harbor Island for a dinghy adrift causing a hazard to navigation. The dinghy was impounded at the Harbor Police impound dock.
