It's bonus time at San Diego State

SDSU executives Chukuka Enwemeka and Mary Ruth Carleton each pulled in over $25,000 for “established goals met.”

It’s November, extra cash time for executives at San Diego State University, where bonuses are being handed out by California State University trustees for “established goals met.” Provost and senior vice president for academic affairs Chukuka Enwemeka is getting an extra $26,626 this year. In 2015, his total compensation was $427,086.92, per the Transparency California website. SDSU’s vice president for University Relations and Development Mary Ruth Carleton bagged an additional $25,288 for meeting her objectives. She made a total of $371,939.24 last year. In 2008, she was paid just $225,000.

Meanwhile, so-called Mandatory Fees for SDSU students are being hiked from $1504 in 2016 to $1612 in 2017, a boost of $108. … Academics at UCSD are being offered a deal to drive electric cars. “For a limited time, students, faculty and staff can take advantage of the following offers: Lease a 2017 BMW i3 for $199/month for 30 months. Includes limited free public charging for 24 months, HOV access and a $2,500 California rebate to eligible participants,” says a November 3 Campus Notice. “Receive a $10,000 cash rebate on the purchase of a 2016 Nissan Leaf. Includes limited free public charging for 24 months, HOV access plus a $7,500 federal tax credit and a $2,500 California rebate to eligible buyers.” A 36-month Ford Focus lease can be had for $139 a month. “With 90 Clean Air Vehicle stalls available in the Athena Parking Structure and the campus’s ever-expanding portfolio of electric vehicle charging stations, there has never been a better time to consider leasing or buying an electric vehicle.”
