The GOP Lincoln Club, backing Republican mayor Kevin Faulconer’s reelection bid this June, has spent $278,672 for the cause, through April 23, according to an April 27 disclosure report. Expenses include “slate mail” worth $257,147 and a $100,000 deposit for a “walk program” from Cypress Consulting. “The most cutting edge campaign in the most cutting edge city in the country is looking for individuals who can think on their feet and would like to play an essential role in the 2016 San Diego elections,” says an online help-wanted ad for Cypress.

“Regional Political Directors will have an opportunity to join this exciting campaign in the early stages and use cutting-edge technology that will revolutionize the traditional methods.” Along with “generous performance-based commissions,” the $15-per-hour campaign gig offers, “flexible hours” and “a chance to learn how political campaigns operate from the inside.” Workers “MUST be located in San Diego and have a car and smartphone.”

Also among the ranks of Lincoln Club vendors is an outfit called Public Dynamics, run by the club’s former executive director and ex–Carl DeMaio campaign manager Ryan Clumpner, to which the club’s pro-Faulconer committee owed $11,267.

His boss might be partying at SeaWorld, but Anthony Reyes, communications director for senator Kevin de Leon, picked up a game of Kings basketball in Sacramento on February 26, thanks to two free “suite tickets” worth $315 from AT&T.

Mission Valley mega-developer Tom Sudberry has been pulling hard for Republican city attorney candidate Robert Hickey in the form of a $23,440 fundraiser Sudberry and wife Jane held February 23.

Republican-turned-Democrat Nathan Fletcher, who twice failed to become San Diego mayor, has kicked in $250 for the mayoral campaign of lifeguard union chief Ed Harris. The Qualcomm executive’s occupation is listed as “Professor, University of California San Diego.” Other Harris donors include Maryanne Pintar, one-time aide to GOP mayor Susan Golding who now works for Democratic congressman Scott Peters, with $500, and Neil Senturia, husband of La Jolla city-council candidate Barbara Bry, also with $500.
