Movie Madness with Scott Marks

Kensington-Talmadge Community Association dinner May 19

Back by popular demand

Last year’s presentation at the presumptive Kensington Video farewell dinner met with such little negative response, the good folks at the Kensington-Talmadge Community Association have invited me back as their guest speaker at this year’s shindig.

How will I fill the time allotted? I’ve been asked to expound upon the virtues of this summer’s blockbusters (that will eat up 30 seconds), last year’s most overrated and underrated films (did I like anything released in 2015?), and my career path to becoming a movie critic (leave a breadcrumb trail).

The Bible omits the first 30 years or so that brought Moses to manhood, but with a half-hour to kill, you can bet your boots there will be ample tales of a youth misspent on the front lines of cinema.

You’ll laugh so much your sides will ache, your heart will go pitter-pat! All this for the amazing low price of $12. They’ll even throw in a hot meal catered by Di Mille’s Italian Restaurant. (Pray for meatballs. They make the best in town.) Where can you find greater entertainment than that? Certainly not at your local multiplex.

Movie Madness with Scott Marks takes place on Thursday, May 19, 6:30 p.m. at the Kensington Community Church, 4773 Marlborough Drive. You’re asked to RSVP by Monday, May 16. For more information visit kental.org. I hope to see you there.
