Tuesday 3
The Bonny Wellington Trio with Matt Smith and Ben Wanicur host the monthly jam session at 3rd Space (4610 Park Boulevard) at 8 p.m. for a $5 cover.

Wednesday 4
Gilbert Castellanos begins the first of two gigs at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) at 6:30 p.m. when he hosts the Young Lions Series before changing gears to lead the jam session at 8:30–11 p.m. All ages, no cover, no minimum.

The Charlie Arbelaez Trio with Dean Hulett and Russell Bizzett play 7 Grand (3054 University Avenue) at 9 p.m. No cover charge, 21+… The Darla Jazz Trio with Rob Thorsen and Bob Boss perform at the Merc Old Town Temecula Theater (42051 Main Street)at 7:30 p.m. $15 at the door.

The Ruby Blue Trio with Rob Thorsen and Bob Boss celebrate the Happy Hour at the Handlery Hotel (950 Hotel Circle North) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. No cover, no minimum, validated parking… The Irving Flores Trio with Rob Thorsen and Duncan Moore play the Westgate Hotel (1055 Second Avenue) at 8 p.m. $20 food/drink minimum.

Saturday 7
Bassist Mark Dresser will perform a Telematic concert at Conrad Prebys Recital Hall (9500 Gilman Drive) in duet with bassist Barre Phillips, performing from Nimes, France at 11:30 a.m… The Steph Johnson Trio with Rob Thorsen and Fernando Gomez play Panama 66 at 7 p.m. No cover charge… Gregory Porter returns to San Diego for a concert at Copley Symphony Hall (750 B Street) at 8 p.m. with opening act Gilbert Castellanos. There are still some tickets available from $20–$50 range.

Sunday 8
The Steph Johnson Trio with Rob Thorsen and Fernando Gomez play a Mothers Day concert at Rancho Valencia (5921 Valencia Circle, Rancho Santa Fe) from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. $125… Max Bennett and Private Reserve with Rob Whitlock, Grant Geissman, Amber Whitlock, and Tony Moore play The Pointe Restaurant and Bar (34085 Pacific Coast Highway) from 3 to 6 p.m. No cover charge.
