March 27

— 50 y/o Female ETOH at 361 Prospect. Lifeguards and Fire Responded. Lifeguards clear Fire to handle.

— Burns to hand from a vape pen, at WaveHouse. 47 y/o male. Lifeguards and Fire Responded. Patient AMA private transport.

— Adrift vessel 35ft. sport fisher close to N. Channel Jetty. Rescue 1 and Jet 2 respond. Vessel overheated and will wait for engine to cool down. Lifeguards Clear.

— Trauma/ medical aid 52 y/o male trauma to finger from a fight. Bay West, Bonita Cove 42 Sam and Fire units respond. Medics Transport to unknown destination.

— Boat stuck in Kendall Frost reserve 6 POB. R1 and crown point responds. R1 requests a chase boat vessel is too shallow. R1 takes 6 POB back to sport center. MBSC handles the rental runabout.

— CPR at Open Bar in the street on a 50 y/o male. 21 Sam, and Fire responds. Medics transport to unknown destination.

March 26

— 911 Caller states there is a diver in distress near the hole at La Jolla Cove. Multiple lifeguard units respond and effect the water rescue. Patient swallowed water and was transported to Scripps La Jolla by Medic 9.

— Windansea guards request Medics for a 23 y/o female with general weakness. MR 9 to Scripps La Jolla.

— RP states Water Taxi and Ski Boat aground at Kendall Frost. Marine 1 and Guardian 2 respond. No injuries and everyone accounted for. Rental companies informed and will send chase boats.

March 25

— 20 year female with ring stuck on finger. La Jolla Shores lifeguards with Medics. Patient AMA’s.

— Suicide attempt patient asks for assistance from Mission Beach lifeguards. PD and Medics summoned and patient to UCSD.

— PD request lifeguards to check North bathrooms at La Jolla Shores for report of lewd behavior from male beachgoer. Unable to locate.

— Broken ankle patient on the beach at Torrey Pines. 31 Sam responds and walks patient citizen’s trail to south end of beach for lifeguard transport up black gold road.

— Patient with ankle injury on cliffs at coast walk at La Jolla Cove. Patient assisted to trail then to medics on road. Patient to Scripps La Jolla.

— PD transfer of person with dog bite on beach at Dog Beach, OB. Unit 12 with 1 Sam treat patient and release.

March 24

— Cliff jumpers at 1171 Sunset Cliffs 20-30 jumpers at the arches. PA announcement was effective and all persons left the scene.

— Head Injury from contact with a surfboard a La Jolla Shores on a 17 year old female. Medics, Engine 9 on scene with lifeguards. Medic 9 transport to Scripps La Jolla.

— Disrupting the peace at Crystal Pier of a 65 year old male. Police and ranger respond to 5150 at Crystal Pier with a delayed response. Police ended up handling the call.

March 23

— Lifeguards respond to an adult at Windermere with a medical problem. Fire and Medics respond. Medics transport patient to Scripps La Jolla

March 22

— RP states 3 kids walking at the base of the cliff at Monaco and is concerned that the rising tide may trap them. 1 Sam investigates and other witnesses state the subjects left the area and clear

— 911 caller states 2 surfers stuck in the rip and high surf at Young Hall. 1 Sam, Rescue West, Jet 1, 3 Lincoln, Able Engine 22 and Medic 47 respond. 1 surfer gets out at Young Hall and the other gets out to Ladera. No lifeguard contact all cleared by 1 Sam.

March 21

— 30 y/o female having an asthma attack at the Hyatt Regency. 4 Sam, E 20 and M 25 respond. Fire on scene handling call, 4-Sam clear.

— 1 Sam, E 22 and M 50 responding to Ladera Park for a report of an intoxicated female being dragged up the cliff by friends. Patient leaves the scene before units arrive.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
