Alejandro Castillo, Jr., a former substitute teacher at Chula Vista's Los Altos Elementary School, was sentenced yesterday (February 29) to seven years in prison for receiving images of child pornography.
According to public record, Castillo had collected a significant number of unlawful images, including those of bondage and degradation. He had communicated with minors over the internet about sexual conduct.
He was receiving the pornography during periods of time when he had sensitive positions of trust at camps and schools. Judge Michael M. Anello said Castillo's conduct was "higher on the scale" of child pornography because of his position of trust with children.
