New recordings are dropping all over town on Saturday, July 30. Encinitas-based punk reggae rockers Hazmatt has a CD-release party planned for Mr. Peabody’s in Encinitas. Sight Unscene’s third full-length, While the World Unfolds, drops at Brick by Brick, on a bill that includes Spades and Blades, A New Challenger Approaches, and A Hero Within.

On the same night, John Meeks debuts On a Sea Darkly at Soda Bar, with collaborators Pall Jenkins (Blackheart Procession, Three Mile Pilot) and local troubadour Preston Swirnoff.

The Casbah hosts a record-release party for the Stage KidsIntra Mental EP on August 6. “We plan on taking everyone’s ears and eyes through an insane and emotional musical roller coaster that will make people forget that they’re even hearing and seeing instrumental music,” says guitarist Jarryd Arcelao. The bill includes Weatherbox, Nicely, and JR Jarris.

Manuok’s new single “Cycles” is now available, preceding his EP The Glass Half, due August 12 on the Chain Letter label. That evening, Dead Feather Moon will play an album-release show at the Belly Up.

The new full-length from hip-hop shaman GonjaSufi, Callus, premieres August 19 on Warp Records, featuring the former guitarist of the Cure, Porl Thompson, on several tracks.

Chica Diabla’s August 19 release party at the Casbah will be their first gig since last November. “Our self-titled CD-release show was postponed due to our singer having been re-diagnosed with breast cancer that has unfortunately metastasized in her brain and is currently at stage four,” says drummer Nats. “Liz has gone through multiple radiation treatments as well as chemotherapy over the past few months and as of late has been on the mend, so we decided that this would be a perfect window to finally release our album, considering her physical health.

Blink-182’s fourth album from 2001, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, will be reissued by Srcvinyl on August 26, mastered for vinyl and featuring a bonus disc.

When Jet West drops their Wake Up full-length on August 26 at the Music Box, “We’ll be debuting our new cover song for ‘People Are Strange’ by the Doors,” says singer/guitarist Chris Warner, “recorded at [Doors guitarist] Robbie Krieger’s studio and produced by Kaleo Wassman from Pepper.”
