— Vessel on the rock at Islandia Point. 24Sam responds and impounds vessel. No one around to claim it or saw what occurred.

— Vehicle in the water at North Pac Passage. Guardian, 4Sam and SDPD respond. Car has been in the water for a month. SDPD requested us to help retrieve the car. Vehicle with tow company.

— 24y/o male with back pain at the foot of Newport. LG’s and M20 respond. M20 AMA with patient.

June 23

— Report of a kayak adrift in Mission Bay Channel via USCG. 4Sam and R1 do a land and water search. Unable to locate kayak.

— Distressed swimmer by Tower 19 on outside. U24 and R1 respond. U24 meets the swimmer who cleared on his own and confirms it’s the swimmer the RP was talking about.

— Report of 28 y/o m in Saratoga Park not oriented. U12, E15, M51 and 611K respond. Medic 51 to UCSD.

— Report of person stepping on a baby seal at La Jolla Cove. Cove Guard investigates.

— NPB Lifeguards advise laceration to the foot at the base of Felspar, determined to be stingray wound. U25, 21Sam, M3, E21 respond. U25 handles & transport patient to PB, all other units cancel.

— Windansea reports 14 y/o f, head to bottom. Westbourne & Bonair. WnS LG, U32, 3Sam, MR9, E13 respond. MR9 to Childrens.

June 21

Report of a troubled person in water at Tower 23. Found out it is T23 Restaurant and SDPD finds person on beach and handles.

— Call of someone spending the night on a mooring buoy in San Juan Cove. Lifeguards check and no one aboard the vessel.

— Report of a 17 month old that fell down stairs at 4500 Ocean Blvd. 21Sam, E21 and M21 respond. Fire arrives on scene first and handles.

— Report of unconscious 60 year old male person at Crystal Pier. 21Sam, E21 and M27 respond. Fire handles call.

— Report of people stuck by Torrey Pines State Beach. 4 people trapped by high tides and one person weighs 310 pounds, has a sprained knee and can’t walk. 3K, Copter 2, M 9, Truck 35 and State Lifeguards respond. Copter 2 airlifts patient out to land medic for AMA. 3 other victims walked out with assistance by Fire and Lifeguard personnel.

June 20

— Person with difficulty breathing/RX to cold water. U25 on scene with 17 y/o male AOx4 on beach at Law Street. 21Sam, E21, M21 respond. Lifeguards clear. Medics with patient attempting to contact parents.

— 911 call. Swimmer in distress at N Surf Beach, two persons. 1Sam, 4Sam, 5Lincoln respond. Citizen rescues both and returned to beach. Lifeguards clear.

— VHF (USCG). Medical emergency on board vessel, “Privateer.” 41 y/o male, AOX3, loss of consciousness. Rescue West, E15, M48 respond. RW crew boards vessel. M48 transport to UCSD.

— 911 call. RP advises 21 y/o male, cliff fall non-injury at Sunset Cliffs and Monaco. 1Sam, U100, 2Sam, 5Lincoln, R44, E22, M20, SDPD respond. Victim extricated, no injuries.

— RP reports swimmer possibly in distress at Blacks. U34 and Jet 3 respond. Lifeguards clear. Just a body surfer.

— JG’s report overturned Catamaran, Sail Bay. Guardian II responds. GII handles.

— RP states vessel violating No Wake rules in Mariners Basin. 4Sam Advised, GI responds. UTL(— Unable To Locate)

— Utility 2 advises back injury from a skateboard fall, 21 y/o female. On boardwalk. Santa Barbara court. Utility 2, 21 Sam, Medic 21 respond. M21 to Scripps.

— Windansea X reports 415 two adult males disturbing the peace. SDPD requested. 3Sam, SDPD respond. LG’s take one 10-16. SDPD turns custody of 10-16 (minor) to parents.

— Assault near drowning at Campland Marina. RP states disabled man pushed off boat and was struggling to stay afloat and swim. GI, R1, M35, E21, SDPD respond. Medic 35 to Scripps.

— 911 call by parents stating teens are lost at Blacks Beach and becoming trapped by high tide. 3 King respond. Lifeguards locate and rescue.

— USCG requests LG’s take over tow at Mission Bay Channel mouth. 28’ sailing vessel. MI responds and tows vessel to Mariners Basin.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24-hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
