— Vessel aground at Capistrano Ct. in Mariners Cove. RP requesting LG assistance to pull vessel off the beach. 24Sam responds by land, and advises that LG’s will not provide a tow due to possibly damaging the vessel and no emergency is happening. R/O contacts a private tow company to help.

— 3 in 1 rip at little rock jetty rip at Ocean Beach. OB lifeguards doing the rescues from land request back up from a rescue vessel. Rescues effected.

— Medics requested to the foot of Ventura St. for a 50 year old male with a foot infection. Medic 42 on scene and transports to Scripps La Jolla.

— Medics requested for an injured 35 year old female injured in the Adv. LG academy with a lower leg injury at the Pappy’s Pt. area. Student is rescued and Medic 44 transports to UCSD.

— Fight between a male and female at Blacks Beach, PD is requesting assistance with a 4-wheel drive vehicle. PD makes an arrest and a 17 year old male is experiencing shortness of breath and altered level of mental status. 31Sam is clear and medic 35 transports to Scripps La Jolla.

— Medical aid at Fern Glen and Neptune on a 50 year old male who is sick with alcohol on board. Fire transfers the 911 caller who is at Little Pt., fire requests that we locate the RP. SDPD gives the patient a ride to detox.

— Medical evaluation at 700 Thomas St. 21Sam has an arrest with alcohol on board and requests medics for an evaluation. PD transports to detox.

— Loss of consciousness on a 21 year old female. 2Sam requests medics and is turned over to fire and they will contact SDPD.

— Injured ankle at Blacks Beach on a 40 year old male at the base of Indian Canyon. Copter 1 transported back to the Glider Port for Medics Medic 19 transports to Scripps La Jolla.

— Disabled vessel in the Channel. 24Sam at scene. Courtesy tow to Dana Landing.

— 10 year old male, near drowning. 3141 Oceanfront Walk. 2Sam, Engine21, Medic 9 respond. Medics cancelled. Lifeguards treat and release.

— Female, unknown age fall from cliff at Osprey Pt. Rescue 44, 5 L, 2Sam, 1Sam, Engine22, Medic 3 and Bat. 3 respond. Patient has injured ankle and is a walkout. Fire handles.

— Entangled whale reported by Fish and Wildlife 2 miles off Scripps pier. Rescue 5, Marine 2 and Sea world respond. Sea world clears most of the lines from the entangled whale. Whale sounds and all units clear.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
