— 14 ft. inflatable black Avon washed up at Cable and Orchard. 24Sam responds. Vessel is impounded and brought to the BSU and USCG is notified for investigation.

— U24 takes one into custody at the foot of Reed Ave. for harassing beach patrons. 21Sam responds and SDPD. LG’s cite and release.

— Medical aid at LJ Cove 1 66y/o male. LJ Cove, E13 and medic 44 responds. Patient eloped all units clear.

— Casa requests medics for a 23y/o male shoulder injury; individual was pulled from the water. LG’s, Fire and medics respond. Medic 9 transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

— Person down at Tower 5 Voltaire St. 35 y/o female unconscious in the bathrooms. LG’s and Fire/Medics respond. Patient transported to Sharp memorial by Medic 21.

— Hurt leg on an unknown age female patient at Windansea across from Neptune pl. LG’s, Fire and Medics respond. Medic 9 transports patient to Scripps LJ.

— C-Spine on a 47y/o male head to the bottom at Mission Beach. LG’s and Fire respond. Medic 21 transports to Scripps La Jolla.

July 28

— HP responded to the area of the Bali Hai (Shelter Island) to assist a subject that fell out of his kayak and was unable to get back onto it. Harbor Police recovered the subject from the water and towed his kayak to the nearest dock.

— SDPD asks for LG response to a suicidal female on the beach at 6900 Neptune Pl. 3K, 24S and SDPD respond. LG’s standby until PD calls it clear.

— Stingray wound at Ave. De las Arenas and Ave. Del Mundo. Coronado Fire notified after triage. Patient elopes and Metro is notified.

— Stingray patient at Black’s Beach. Unit 35 and Jet 5 respond. Hot water treatment on scene, minor medical aid.

— Stingray victim at Black’s Beach on the North end of beach.Unit 35 responds and victim self-treats.

July 27

— Lifeguards, SDPD, Fire and Medics respond to 911 call of swimmer in distress in water off Little Rock Jetty, OB. 0323hrs Rescue-4 crew gives code X sign and 24-S requests an All Page for additional personnel. 0335hrs victim is located in water on north side of jetty and CPR is initiated. Medics transport patient to UCSD.

— Lifeguards, Fire and Medics respond to 56yo male at MB, suffering from heat exhaustion. Medics on scene at 1516 and evaluate. Patient is released by Medics AMA.

— Windnsea guards and 3Sam respond to a “head vs bottom” call at W&S. C-Spine precautions are taken by Lifeguards and Medic-21 transports patient to Scripps La Jolla.

— 911 call for an unconscious female found in MB public restroom. Lifeguards, Fire, Medics and PD respond. Person was “resting,” woke up and eloped.

July 26

— HP located a small deflated dinghy on the riprap rocks near the Laurel Street Anchorage. The dinghy was recovered and brought to the Harbor Police impound dock.

— HP were dispatched to a dinghy that was adrift near the Grape Street Piers. The dinghy was recovered and brought to the Harbor Police impound dock.

— 911 call about a bow fisher in swim area at 3600 Oceanfront Walk. 2A responds and meets with both parties and gets compliance.

— VHF call of a boat taking on water south of Point Loma. RW, M1, 1S, USCG and Navy War Ship RIB respond. Navy vessel performs rescue and USCG handles boat. LG’s response cancelled.

— Allergic reaction reported by JG Ops at 1008 Santa Clara Pl. JG’s, M2 and E21 respond. M2 transports patient to UCSD.

— 911 call of jumpers at Pappy’s Point. U100 responds gives warnings and stays in the area.

— Person down by zip line at 3100 Oceanfront Walk. 2S, E20 and M2 respond. Medics AMA.

— Sick person at 3150 Mission Blvd on Boardwalk. 23X and M-21 respond. Medic 21 on scene first and handles.

— Vessel smoking near Ventura Bridge. Rescue 3 responds and calls clear — barbeque on a boat.

— Traumatic injuries at Seaforth Boat Rental’s. 41S, T20, M27 and 175K respond. Medics transport patient to Scripps La Jolla.

— Altered LOC from stingray bite at Bonita Cove. 24S, 2S and E21 respond. Patient treats themselves and lifeguards clear.

— Unconscious male at 700 Ventura Pl. from alcohol. Mission X, 2S, E21 and SDPD respond. E21 handles patient and lifeguards clear.

July 25

— HP responded to a vessel in distress near the A-3 Anchorage. The vessel had run out of gas and was being pushed by winds and current into the anchorage. HP towed the vessel to the closest dock and called for Vessel Assist.

— HP were dispatched to the Marina Cortez for a person in the water drowning. It was found that the subject had fallen off his paddle board and immediately drowned. He was not wearing the Personal Floatation Device PFD that was attached to the board. The incident is still being investigated.

— Lifeguards respond to Marine Room to look for a missing swimmer from a tour. Swimmer found and lifeguards clear.

— Person reports an object in the water near Bird Rock. Lifeguards respond and investigate. Lifeguards find nothing and clear.

— Lifeguards respond to a vessel aground in Kendal Frost, Mission Bay. Lifeguards tow vessel clear.

— Lifeguards respond to 3 P.W.C.s jumping waves south of O.B. Pier. Lifeguards warn and release.

— Lifeguards respond to No Surf for a head injury. Lifeguards treat a minor medical aid and clear.

— Lifeguards respond to Crown Point for a vessel accident where two P.W.C.s collided. Lifeguards report no injuries.

— Lifeguards respond to Reed St. for 45yr old female who fainted. Fire and Medics also respond. Medics transport patient to Scripps La Jolla.

— Lifeguards respond to fishermen throwing fishing weights at surfers off Crystal Pier. SDPD responds and handles.

— Lifeguards respond to disabled vessel off Sail Bay. Lifeguards tow vessel to reception dock.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
