— Breathing problems 32 y/o female at Fiesta Island. Lifeguard events and Medic 21 respond. Medic 21 transports to Scripps La Jolla.

— Elderly man falls and a head injury results at Coast and Jenner. Lifeguards and Fire respond. Medics cancel LG’s on scene. Patient is with medics.

— Dingy adrift at Seaforth Marina at D 91. 8 ft. inflatable was impounded by Marine I.

— Breathing problems at OB lifeguard tower on a 32 y/o female short of breath. Lifeguards and Fire respond. Medics transport to Alvarado hospital.

— Person entering the water possible suicide attempt on a white male, 6’3, black trunks. LG’s and PD respond. PD apprehended the subject in sand before he entered the water.

April 23

— 911 call reporting party states a group of people went swimming at Reed St. and now one person is missing. Shortly later the reporting party states that everyone is accounted for and it was just drunken confusion/units cancel.

— 911 call for a 56 year old male with chest pains at Avenida De La Playa. U 3, E 9 and MR 9 respond. MR 9 transports to Scripps La Jolla.

— Medics requested to the restrooms at De Anza Cove by 42 Sam for a 75 y/o female who fell. A lifeguard rescue vessel, E 16 and M 51 respond. M 51 transports to Grossmont.

— U 12 request fire for a lockout response for a vehicle with two dogs locked inside. E 15 responds and handles.

— Medical aid, 25 year old male with abdominal pain at the De Anza boat dock. Lifeguard fire boat, 41 Sam and M 51 respond. Turns out Patient was involved in a vessel accident, 41 Sam takes vessel accident report and the patient refuses treatment and elopes.

— Possible aspiration at 700 Grand. E 21 and M 21 respond patient AMA’s.

— Person yelling for help on a boogie board off PB Drive. 21 Sam and U 24 respond and make a water rescue.

— Bike Vs parked car at Fern Glen and Monte Vista. U 32 on scene, E 13 responds and handles the call.

— Jet Ski accident on the North end of Fiesta Island. No injuries hit and run jet ski accident M 1 locates other party and a vessel accident report is taken by lifeguards and SDPD.

April 22

— Abdominal pain at Mission Beach on a 51 y/o male. Lifeguards and Fire responded. Disposition unknown.

April 21

— Sting Ray injury @ Blacks Beach; U 33, UCSD, E 9 and MR 9 respond. U 33 transports to the top of road. PT self-treats, all units clear.

— 56 y/o male with heart problems at Leisure Lagoon; 2 Sam, G II, E 25, M 28 on scene. PT transported to Sharp.

April 20

— Call-person on cliff at Boundary Line. PT lowered to beach with no injuries.

— Vehicle on pier. Released with warnings.

— Person reports possible skeleton in water NPB. Unit 25 determines it was from a bat ray.

— Female with heat exhaustion. Black’s Beach. Lifeguards request medics. Medic 13 to Scripps La Jolla.

April 19

— 21 y/o male, brief loss of consciousness at PB tower. Lifeguards and Medics respond. Patient AMA with medics.

April 18

— MB requests medics for a 40 y/o female altered LOC. Medic 21 transports to Scripps.

— 2 Sam requests medics for 70 y/o male with low O2 saturation. Medic 21 transports to Scripps LJ.

— OB tower requests surfboat for disabled vessel near surf line off tower 6. Jet 1 on scene and tows vessel away from surf line. Surfboat then takes over tow and brings vessel into turning basin for Vessel Assist.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24-hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
