Copter 1 performs a noninjury pick-off

April 13

— HP responded to a dinghy that was adrift near the Laurel Street Anchorage. The dinghy was impounded at the Harbor Police Dock for being a hazard to navigation

April 12

— HP posted signs for removal of personal property on items that were placed on top of a dinghy dock, located behind the Marine Exchange on Shelter Island.

— HP responded to a burglary call in progress aboard a vessel located at a Shelter Island marina. Upon arrival, Harbor Police located several subjects around the vessel. Two were detained and one took off running. A short foot pursuit ensued with the subject eventually jumping into the water and attempting to hide under a swim step of a vessel. The subject was soon located and taken into custody.

April 11

— HP responded to a vessel accident where a sailboat under power lost engine and steering controls and then drifted into a moored naval ship at the Coronado Amphibious Base. There was no damage to either vessel.

April 10

— HP responded to a domestic violence call at a Shelter Island Marina.

— HP stopped a vessel in a North Bay marina and cited the operator for speeding in a 5 mph zone.

— 1 Sam request SDPD Cover Now for an individual starting multiple counts of disturbing the peace at OB Lifeguard tower. SDPD with suspect in custody.

— Male stuck on the cliff at the boundary line in a precarious position. Lifeguards, Fire and Copter 1 respond. Lifeguards perform a non-injury pick off. Medics evaluated the patient; no medical concerns. Lifeguards and fire clear.

April 9

— Kayak in distress south of the Spindrift access, 31-Sam and Jet-3 respond. Guide is able to assist without lifeguard assistance.

— CPR in progress at the Mission Bay Sports Center. JG 1, 2 Sam, a lifeguard rescue vessel, E 21 and M 21 respond. Patient regains a pulse and is transported to Scripps Memorial by M 21.

— Possible report of a person deceased in a vehicle at 12600 North Torrey Pines Road. Fire, medics, 31 Sam state lifeguards and SDPD respond, lifeguards cancelled.

— 911 call reporting two swimmers in distress near the Clam/Emerald Cove. Cove lifeguards perform two rescues.

— Unresponsive female in a wheel chair on the OB Pier. 1 Sam, E 15 and M 20 respond. No aid given per medics.

— 911 call reporting a 27 year old male having seizures at Liverpool Court. U 23, T 21 and M 6 respond. M 6 transports to an unknown location.

— MDC report 333 Coast Blvd on the beach a 60 year old female slip and fall. ETOH. U 32, 31 Sam, E 13 and M 35 respond. M 35 transports to UCSD.

— 25 year old female ETOH at the foot of Diamond. 21 Sam requests medics, then cancels. SDPD responds and takes to detox.

— 911 call for two uninjured persons stuck on the cliff at the Boundary line. Northern area cliff response, victims lowered to the beach and released.

— 911 call for a 25 year old male slip and fall on the rocks w/possible dislocated hip between Del Mar and Coronado Streets. 1 Sam, E 15 and M 11 respond. Patient is transported to the top of Orchard and M 11 transports to UCSD.

San Diego Lifeguards are a 24 hour rescue agency whose responsibilities include water rescue, boat rescue, marine fire suppression, coastal cliff rescue, underwater search and recovery, swift water and flood search, rescue and emergency medical response. San Diego Lifeguards also handle enforcement of city, state and federal laws and regulations. Lifeguards are classified as peace officers with the power of arrest.
