If we’re anthropomorphizing (ask your parents), I’ll go out on a limb and say that birds regard flying the same way I feel about composing elaborate pop cultural similes that complicate otherwise simple explanations: it’s serious business and a necessary part of life. Regardless of whether or not they’re capable of finding joy in flight, as long as the birds in question don’t start “enjoying” the Kings of Leon, they are all right by me.
