Post Title: A is for Andaz Hotel
Post Date: April 1, 2015
The only hotel in town with a stripper pole, Andaz’s infamous Star Suite also boasts mirrored ceilings, faux fur-carpeted king-sized bunk beds, and a shower with walls that can be set to transparent or translucent — depending upon your perversions and preferences. Previous guests are rumored to include Prince Harry and John Mayer — though not at the same time! Be forewarned: rates range from $2,500–$4,000 per night, according to hotelchatter.com.
Post Title: For Fun F*ing in San Diego, try...
Post Date: April 7, 2015
My favorite for the Most Imaginative Place to Fuck Al Fresco in San Diego has to go to the Magical Adventure Balloon Rides Company, offering the “Mile High Flight,” which includes a private flight “in the privacy of an enclosed dome tent with private view as our discreet pilot ascends to 5,280 feet (1 mile). We provide a music player, you provide the music, blankets, pillows and imagination.” Bow-chicka-wow-wow! The balloon ride takes approximately one hour and includes both a premium champagne toast and breakfast at the South Coast Winery Resort and Spa after you land. It’s $1,000 for the package for two, and another $169 per additional person. Talk about a unique place for a three-way!
Post Title: Naughty nights: North Park Adult Video
Post Date: April 16, 2015
First opened in 1978, this store offers adult video booths showing gay and straight XXX films, as well as a video arcade with thousands of adult videos and DVDs for sale and for rent. To be honest, I’m impressed that San Diego still offers these kinds of adult viewing booths. It’s about as close to a live-nude-girls-style peep show as you’re likely to come in SoCal. Rentals are $3 a night, with a $5 yearly membership fee. On Tuesdays you can rent films for two nights for the price of one!
Post Title: T is for Thads
Post Date: April 23, 2015
Thads Swingers Club is the only* licensed swingers club in San Diego, and has been around since 1974. The club has lots of private rooms, a couples-only area and group rooms, along with a dance floor, two dance poles, pool tables, a swimming pool, and Jacuzzi.
As with all clubs, Thads has rules:
For confidentiality reasons, they request that all party-goers use an alias and not hand out their phone number within the club. Invitations must be requested over the phone (not by email) between 4 to 8 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday;
It’s BYOB — which goes for drinks as well as towels and condoms;
No drinks that come to the party are allowed to leave the premises;
Upstairs is for couples only — no single men allowed by their lonesome (nor in a FFM threesome);
Dress code: men must be totally nude, women can wear lingerie or anything revealing and sexy — but no street clothes, with the exception of footwear.
And, of course, the most important rule: NO MEANS NO!
As they tactfully put it on their website:
“We get many new couples and single ladies in the club looking to have their first swinging experience. The last thing they want to deal with is a pushy single. Be a gentleman. Use your charm, but if it’s not happening then that’s it. Many couples are only into other couples so don’t ever take it personal. Be social. Introduce yourself and just be you. Do not be pushy or tailgate the ladies.”
Another unexpectedly good place to find out more about Thads? Yelp! Reviewer Knight S. says he used to work there, and offers plenty of useful info to those interested in taking the plunge.
*Actually, in addition to Thads, swingers can also visit Crave Lounge — a private, members-only “lifestyle club.”
