A day of sailing did not end well for a driver towing his boat home late Saturday afternoon on March 21. The boat sailed off its trailer and docked itself along Adams Avenue.
Witness Alex Lara, who owns the house close to where the boat came to rest, said that the trailer broke away from the SUV as the driver completed a left-hand turn onto westbound Adams Avenue from the I-15 north off-ramp.
The boat, identified as Madness, and the SUV were substantially damaged.
Adding to the unusual spectacle was the arrival of a fleet of tow trucks with lights flashing. Kensington resident Betsy Johnson observed that the boat's owner is suffering serious "madness" over this costly incident.
